The music of today is all created from the sounds of the past. This is the motto of Budapest Burlesque, namely DJ Jutasi and his clarinet player Babi. You may know the name Jutasi, who is a standout figure of Hungary’s electronic music scene. Started his career in 1983 as a club DJ, and the breakthrough came in 1992 when he won the first DMC Championship in Hungary. After that he became a famous club DJ with many residencies and worked together with such names like Westbam, Marusha or Sven Väth to name a few.
Around 2000 he felt that it’s time to try something different in music. He went back to underground to compile and produce one of the first and most known lounge music compilation of Hungary, Sunset Café. Since then it had 4 more volumes, all was great success in our little country.
The next great turn in Jutasi’s life came in 2007 when he felt love with Balkan music. He founded his most successful project so far: Goulasch Exotica. The short lived band released only one album in 2008 but toured all around Europe and remixed such names like Fatima Spar, !DelaDap, Max Pashm or [dunkelbunt]. Goulasch Exotica disbanded in 2012 but luckily for everybody Jutasi instantly found a new muse: electro swing.
In later 2013 DJ Jutasi teamed up with Babi the clarinet player and started to do gigs under the name Budapest Burlesque. Soon after they’ve found themselves in a studio working hard on own tracks. Their music is inspired by the 100-year-old pop culture melodies but they combined those themes with the 21st century’s music technology. Their electro-swing tunes are very up to date and getting more and more popular, so they instantly appeared on the 2nd installment of Electro Swing Club’s compilation which is one of the most important selection of the electro-swing scene.

In the meantime the guys finished their first EP that contains
The Gambler and Sing & Swing with radio & instrumental versions too. Both songs feature the vocal talents of Bryant Goodman from the band Mystical Plants. The Gambler EP contains very addictive, dancefloor-filler music that will make you dance for sure….
And this is just the beginning...
